Dungeons and Dragons at Muncaster Castle

Five days and nights of your favorite role-playing game hosted by performers from the renaissance faire on the estate of historic Muncaster Castle.
Each day we have events and excursions full of excitement. Test your mettle at the Weapons Hall where you’ll fire crossbows, throw axes and train for combat! Wander the gardens where you may encounter a helpful NPC full of information about your quest! We’ll personally meet the owls of the hawk and owl sanctuary …and so much more!
Each evening we throw the dice and play our main campaign. We’ll break for dinner at our tavern, and then play the night away in the castle tower.
Muncaster is the home of the original Tom Fool and the Pennington family who have lived there for over 800 years. Located in Cumbria, England, the spellbinding beauty of the surrounding castle grounds sets the stage for a wild adventure. Enjoy feasts, festivities, excursions, and over 24 hours of gaming inside the castle!
You can choose your accommodations; single room, double with a roommate, or stay in our Rogues Gallery bunk room.
Alcohol: A certain number of alcoholic beverages are included in our package, more can be acquired at an additional cost.

Adventure Itinerary
Monday July 14
We will have a shuttle from the Ravenglass train station to Muncaster Castle so we can start our adventure. Hang out in the tavern and play some games once you’ve gotten yourself in your rooms, meet and greet your fellow players and Dungeon Masters and then prepare for our welcome feast complete with bardic songs. Once our bellies are full, Lord Muncaster himself will give us our quest! Without delay we start our adventure that night!
Tuesday July 15
After breakfast at the cafe we take you to the new weapons hall to see how you fare with archery, axe throwing, crossbows, and more! We’ll have lunch at the tavern, and get right in to our second session. A dinner break at the tavern, and then it’s right back to gaming.
Wednesday July 16
After breakfast we bring ourselves to the small town of Ravenglass where we board the historic steam train to Eskdale. We go for a quick walk from the Eskdale station to a local tavern for lunch. From there we visit a fully operational 15th century mill in the beautiful Cumbrian countryside where more clues about the adventure can be found. We return to Muncaster for dinner and a full session of gaming into the night.
Thursday July 17
Breakfast at the cafe, and some free time to explore the grounds, or play some board games with your fellows at the tavern. After lunch, we witness the bird show where you’ll see hawks, eagles, and falcons fly with the castle in the background. Afterwards, we get a special meeting with the birds. We’ll grab an early dinner at the tavern because we have an all-night gaming session to do.
Friday July 18
Final day of gaming: After breakfast enjoy pick up games at the tavern until lunch, afterwards an all-day adventure awaits in the castle as we face the end of our quest. We close with a Royal Heroes’ Feast as Lord and Lady Muncaster invite us to their formal banquet hall so that they may hear the heroic exploits as your Dungeon Masters give awards to all our adventurers. We adjourn from the formal hall to our tavern where we shall celebrate into the night!
Saturday July 19
Enjoy a last relaxing morning at the castle, say goodbye to our gracious hosts and we shuttle you to the Ravenglass train station for your next adventure!

What’s included in your Adventure Package:
ALL meals, excursions, games and events, shuttle from Ravenglass to Muncaster, and lodging as delineated below are included.
Each person will have an allotment of drinks provided, more can be purchased.
We’re staying on the grounds of Muncaster Castle in The Coachmans Quarters B&B which overlooks the castle. You have full access to the grounds and once the castle is closed to the public, we have the place to ourselves.

Rogue’s Gallery (adventurers’ bunk room) – $3,200
If rooms are full on the castle grounds, we have additional rooms at The Pennington Hotel in Ravenglass 1.5 miles down the road where we will shuttle you to and from so you don’t miss a minute of adventure!
